Premiere: Yazzus ‘Grand Theft Audio’
London-based label platform and club collective Boudica returns with four high-energy techno cuts featuring Yazzus, Infinity Division, Peachlyfe and Sentimental Rave
London-based label platform and club collective Boudica returns with its second V/A EP next month. Listen to Yazzus’ contribution, ‘Grand Theft Audio’, below.
Curated by Boudica founder Samantha Togni, the four-track, high-energy techno EP also features tracks Infinity Division, Peachlyfe and Sentimental Rave. This new vinyl release arrives ahead of Boudica Music Conference’s Europe tour this year, which will feature talks, workshops alongside Pioneer DJ, and a series of club nights. It follows the release of the label’s debut EP last year, which comprised tracks by Samantha Togni, Nur Jaber, Wanton Witch and Femanyst.
Originating as a conference in 2020, Boudiuca strives to “give visibility to women, trans+ and non-binary artists”. Evolving into a regular event series, Boudica has gone on to hold a residency at The Pickle Factory in London and has also appeared in clubs such as The Cause, E1 and Electrowerkz. They have also previously hosted an edition of their conference at Bologna’s Museum of Modern Art and in partnership with Pioneer DJ.
Vancouver’s Infinity Division’s contribution, ‘Dreams That I Can't Quite Remember’, inspired the name of the overall release, and kicks proceedings off with a typically jagged slice of punky hardware techno. Speaking about their high-speed, vocoder-fied techno cut, Copenhagen’s Peachlyfe said: “I made this track as a declaration of love to someone very special to me and played it for her on her birthday on a big sound system. It’s an over-the-top, melt-where-you-stand, dance-your-heart-out, unapologetic love song!”
Paris’ Sentimental Rave and London-born, Berlin-based Mala Junta resident Yazzus keep the momentum going with two pummelling cuts, with the latter closing things off with a glitching blast of car chase rave adrenaline.
‘Dreams That I Can’t Quite Remember’ will be released on 2nd June. Pre-order it here.
