PC Music will stop releasing new music after 2023, pivoting to archival projects and reissues
A. G. Cook's experimental label is bowing out after 10 years
PC Music will cease releasing new music after 2023 as the label marks its 10th anniversary.
Moving forward, the experimental electronic and hyperpop record label founded by A. G. Cook will instead share only archival projects and special reissues.
“After a decade of activity, 2023 will be PC Music’s final year of new releases,” an official statement reads.
“Following that, the label will be dedicated to archival projects and special reissues. We have an undisclosed number of new albums and singles coming very soon. For now, 10 x 10 minutes of content from the past, present & future. Personal Computer Music forever.”
On a special webpage devoted to PC Music’s 10th anniversary, a 100-minute-long playlist featuring old and new music from its artists is available to stream. It includes material from Cook, Easyfun, Dux Content, Ö, Grrl, Umru, Datalord, Caro♡, and Bopples.
PC Music’s roster also included Hannah Diamond, Danny L Harle, and Hyd, among others. Although she was never signed to the label, the late SOPHIE collaborated frequently with and contributed to PC Music releases.
Other names linked to the label include Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek and Carly Rae Jepsen.
In 2022, the label released a new ‘Vol. 3’ compilation featuring Charli, Polachek, Clairo and others.
