Calvin Harris channels ‘90s trance on new Ellie Goulding collaboration, ‘Miracle’: Listen
It’s the first joint release from the two in almost a decade
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding have teamed up to release a new track, ‘Miracle’. Check it out below.
The ‘90s trance-inspired track marks the first joint track from the two in almost a decade, having first collaborated on 2012's ‘I Need Your Love’, before releasing another joint track ‘Outside’ two years later.
Speaking to Apple Music on the new release, and embracing the more uptempo trance sound, Harris said: “I've done the trancey-sounding things before, but I've never been this fast, so it feels good. When I was 14, it was '98, '99 – for me it was kind of [a] formative trance and house era. I thought maybe I'll just try and recreate something that could be from back then.”
“I definitely have very defined sort of likes and dislikes for music and artists. And one of my likes is Ellie Goulding's angelic vocals. [She’s] one of a kind, you’re not going to get this from anyone else.” He continued.
Last year Ellie Goulding released the Grammy-nominated track ‘Easy Lover’, which was subsequently remixed from Four Tet. In 2020, the Four Tet released his well-known track ‘Baby’, featuring vocals from Goulding.
Earlier this week, Calvin Harris announced his 14-week residency this summer at Ushaïa Ibiza, he is also set to play at Coachella this year alongside Gorillza, TSHA, Björk, and many more.
