Boys Noize shares rework of Bananarama's ‘Venus’: Listen
"I really enjoyed the challenge making this classic work in my DJ-sets," said the German DJ and producer
Boys Noize has shared a rework of Bananarama's classic single, ‘Venus'. Stream it below.
The German producer and DJ dropped the rework on 18th August. Written by Dutch rock band Shocking Blue in 1969, Bananarama's 1986 version of the song featured on their third album, 'True Confessions', and topped the charts in six countries including the US Billboard Top 10. It helped the British and Irish pop trio's status as the most successful girl group of all time.
Championed by Peggy Gou in her summer sets, Ridha's new rework came following a request to cover the single. “When the request came in I was quite excited to take this on," he said. "I really enjoyed the challenge making this classic work in my DJ-sets, speeding it up and making it pop on new soundsystems."
He added: "Besides the vocals, some of the original elements worked really well in my new musical dress too - it’s really fun to play this one!”
The release comes a month after Ridha teamed up with Skrillex for a new single, 'Fine Day Anthem'. It was the first collaborative music the pair have released since 2019's ‘Turn Off The Lights’ EP.
